A guide to gender dimensions in SADC constitutions

The SADC declaration on Gender and Development passed by Heads of State or Government in 1997 is informed by the understanding of gender equality as a fundamental human right and more significantly, by the appreciation of the role of gender equality in the sustainable development of the region.
