This booklet aims to offer guidance to individuals and civil society organisations who wish to voice their opnions in a manner which will get the attention and gain the respect of government office-bearers and officials. it emerged from CORE’s trainind programmes on advocacy skills for CSOs, offered over more than ten years in South and Southern Africa. the content is based on experience in both apartheid and democratic South Africa as well as relevant experience from several other countries where democratic culture is perhaps more established.
