Anti-Gender Based Violence Act: Simplified version

The Zambian government in its continued effort to combat gender based violence and reduce the incidence enacted the Anti Gender Based Violence Act in 2011 following wide consultation. In an effort to fulfil its obligation to inform and educate the Zambian public about this new Act and ensure its effective implementation, the Gender in Development Division was asked to educate the public on the contents of the Act. This simplified version of the Act is designed to meet this responsibility and enhance understanding of the provisions of the new Act and help victims to seek help.
