This is a publication on freedom of expression in Malawi.

The final report of the 1999 Article 19 Malawi media Monitoring Project which includes chapters on media freedom on the new Malawi, looking a print and broadcast media as well as new media.

There are sections on the 1999 presidential and parliamentary elections, including voter anger, lack of materials etc. There is a chapter covering evidence of disinformation and the elections as well as campaign broadcasting and publications.

The final chapter covers the future of media freedom in Malawi.
