Civil Society reflections on the East Afican Budget Speeches FY 2014/15

This publication analyses the Uganda budget speech for FY 2014/15 and the potential impact of proposals made on the Ugandan citizens while taking stock of what positive changes the Ugandan Government has made to improve budget efficiency and effectiveness. Furthermore, through this publication, CSBAG also provides comparisons with other East African Community (EAC) countries especially Kenya and Tanzania and outlines the CSBAG concerns and provides policy proposals that government can address to ensure that the Ugandan Budget FY 2014/15 is pro-poor and gender sensitive. This publication is intended for policy makers especially Members of Parliament to understand and get alternative Policy options on how government resources can be mobilized, allocated and utilized in a gender sensitive, pro poor and sustainable manner.
