Expert think tank meeting on HIV prevention in high – prevalence countries in Southern Africa: Report

This think tank took place in Lesotho to address the continuing increase of the epidemic in this region. the meeting identified the drivers of the epidemic in the region which include male attitudes and behaviour, low condom use and social and structural factors such a high population mobility, inequalities of wealth, gender inequality and cultural factors.

Recommendations from the meeting included national reviews of evidence regarding prevention and the drivers of the epidemic as well as the roll out of male circumcision as well as increased and correct condom use.
