The word governance has been defined as the exercise of political, economic and administrative authority in the management of a country’s affairs at all levels. Governance can be good and bad. For governance to be good there are a number of attributes that should be in place. It has to be participatory, transparent and accountable, effective in making the best of resources equitably, promote and respect the rule of the law, promote democracy and its attributes and must respect the rights of all interest groups in society including women.
