Feminism – Human Rights and Gender Equality in South Africa

This master’s thesis looks at the question of whether the post-apartheid political, social, cultural and economic system in South Africa is conducive to achieving gender equality. African postcolonial feminism points at the patriarchal system, the cultural customs and the neo-liberal ideology as obstacles to achieving real gender equality.
