This study examined whether or not journalists had access to the code of ethics as well as the possibility that they were using it to guide their professional work. Although most journalists agreed that knowledge levels on ethical principles had grown after the introduction of the code, the same could not be said about the quality of journalism. The study also revealed that there was little effort to enforce the code within newsrooms and that the management of media houses only begins to address ethics as an issue when they are faced with libel cases.
