This is a research document produced by Musasa, a non-governmental organisation established in 1988 in response to the increasing levels of domestic violence in Zimbabwe. The Domestic Violence Act came into force in 2007 to provide protection and widens the scope of relief available to victims of domestic violence. Since the implementation of this Act, numerous gaps and challengeshave been identified. This study was carried out to expand knowledge on and ascertain the limits of the Domestic Violence Act and obtain suggestions from those in the field. It focused on the experiences of survivors of violence and actors in GBV response.
