Background
Why did you produce the story? What problem or context is it responding to?
I decide to produce this story due to the research done my Mwanza Kivulini Institution which show that the number of people who shift from village to town increased while number of girl are seem to be more.
Therefore after being come to town many girls fail to get job and their fore they cannot accommodate themselves rather than finding other ways to live and that is where they decide to live in Club, Bar and being a prostitute.
The decisions to produce this story is to insure the number of prostitution in Tanzania are reduced if not disappear and this it can be possible if as the Journalist we can take as Agenda, in addition I decide to produce this story because i need to show the Gender Based Violence which occurs in some parts of
Tanzania for example things which happen to Mariam a fourteen girl with sixth months baby who raped by a group of street children and beaten with this vulnerable group, therefore I decide to produce this story so as I can rescue a larger group of youth in Tanzania, the Context which respond is basically deal with youth group.
Key objectives
What did you hope to achieve with this coverage?
I hope to Achieve Drastic Changes from the girls who selling their body (prostitution) to stop doing this business and do the other business which is legal accepted.
I also hope that Gender Based Violence will not continue anymore and equality and respect will take place in the societies we live.
Rapping action through the street children can be solved for the good collaboration between the government and the youth, also I hope the government will provide more awareness education concerning gender based violence , early pregnant, rapping, and Prostitution , therefore all these can be possible if the journalist take.
Target audience
Who did you hope to reach? Did you succeed in reaching this audience? What evidence do you have to that effect?
Actually, during the production of my work i hope to reach the group of youth, aged between twelve years to forty years old while the most targeted group is youth, actually, our Radio tried to reach the group and the feedback we received was positive. In most of the young people, in Mwanza city the number of young are calculated to be more than 55% youth compared to the all population in Mwanza.
According the feedback we received, we reached the goals because we reached almost 30 percent of the youth. According to the research done in Mwanza Jembe FM, is the reading stations in Mwanza city, the feedback we received was through messages audience they sent to the program, Calls. Within the program, and in our Facebook page ,therefore it was positive ,feedback, And lastly was due the number of prostitution decisions to live that business and to join a group then look for loans from the government and finally they are now a big a entrepreneur in Tanzania while previous they were the prostitution as usual,
How did you gather the data, how many sources, female and male did you consult? Why did you choose these sources and how were their voices important?
The Data was gathered though ,Face to face interview, through investigation, Focusing group discussion, Research ,Simple observation from field, Sources used are 10 Female 6 male 4.
Their voices was important because I was having the main Character who is, reliable sources who are Citizens, Credible who have that knowledge to talk as academician and authoritative the source with power to present the government,
Feedback
What impact did it have? What evidence do you have to illustrate impact?
The Impact of the documentary I produced is direct Life Change, motivation and Public awareness, within the societies, the direct impact was to change this prostitution to entrepreneurs, joining groups and received the loans from the council to empower them.
At least public awareness are provided from these group there they can now handling their situation, Birth Control, Earl pregnant, and the use of Condoms, Much education to insure Gender Based Violence stopped and Gender Equality are taking place.
Follow up
How would you conduct a follow up to your story and why?
Follow up non my story was conducted through research and simple observation from the field for example place where it was very famous by that business are now controlled by police therefore there are no business any more.
In addition, the follow up was conducted through calling the victims and plan what should they so as they can be reach, Half of the prostitutes in a new survey say they became prostitutes because of sexual curiosity, and 68 percent consider their line of work as part of their sexuality.
“While there’s no doubt that money is the primary reason for the women becoming prostitutes, it is very surprising that sexual motivation ranks so highly I decided to do, it because I know we human being are dynamic we can change t anytime.
