The book is an outcome of research carried out by an active Academic and Feminist Intellectual exploring the multiple factors that influence the process of engendering governance for a more equitable society. To this end, the book also explores the changing roles of various actors including women’s movements, non state actors and the state and their potential to bring about transformation. It is thought provoking and contributes to ongoing national debates and provides new conceptual frameworks for engendering governance in Mauritius whilst also acknowledging the sustained efforts and progress made by the Ministry towards women’s empowerment.
