Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) – United Nations (UN) Joint Programme on Gender Based Violence

this joint programme was developed to support the zambian Government in implementing the Convention of the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) with particular focus on the provisions on violence against women, its causes and consequences and to support the transformation of Zambia’s Anti- GBV Act.

• To increase the health sector’s involvement in addressing GBV in Zambia
• To establish appropriate legal systems to implement the Anti – GBV Act
• To scale up social protection systems for the management and prevention of GBV
• To establish an effective co-ordination for an integrated response to GBV in Zambia
