The Handbook provides a basic introduction to human rights principles and practice as they apply to the work of parliamentarians worldwide. It forms an expanded curriculum for training on human rights and the rule of law provided jointly by the Internaional Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI), the House of Commons and the Joint Committee on Human Rights as part of the TWC programme. The purpose of the handbook is to present practical tools which members and parliamentary staff may use in their work . It uses examples and case studies from around the globe and specifically from each of the TWC partners, include UK.
