Masculinities and public policy in South Africa: changing masculinities and working toward gender equality

This report on policy approaches to changing masculinities and working with men and boys for gender equality in SA forms a part of a broader multi-country project coordinated by Instituto Promundo. The authors of this report believe that for widespread change to occur, public policy shifts are required. The key focus areas are: 1) Men and violence, 2) Men and HIV/AIDS, 3) Men and the family, 4) Boys, men and schools, 5) Men at work, 6) Men and risk: alcohol and substance abuse and 7) Men, crime and punishment.
