This Second edition of the national guidelines for antiretroviral therapy has been released so that HIV care in Namibia can keep up with new treatment options and improved monitoring systems. These revised guidelines are based on new scientific evidence from international reports and studies. They are the result of the collaborative efforts among our local HIV specialists and other medical experts that make up the Ministry of Health and Social Services’ Technical Advisory Committee on ARVs. Additional support has come from our developmental partners and the recently updated WHO guidelines on HIV care in resource limited settings. The Ministry will continue to revise, update and formulate other editions of these guidelines as more information becomes available.
