On equal footing: policy for gender equality and the rights and roles of women in Sweden’s international development cooperation 2010 – 2015

Gender equality and the role of women in development are one of the Swedish Government’s thematic priorities in international development co-operation. This policy presents the government’s position concerning the promotion of gender equality and the rights and role of women in Sweden’s international development cooperation. The policy applies from 2010 – 2015 and applies to Sweden’s bilateral and multilateral development cooperation, using gender mainstreaming as the basic approach.
