This compilation of information resources and tools for civil society is driven by a commitment to openness and accessibility of information, knowledge and software for development. The resources and tools collated, through the collective effort of the Open Society Initiative of Southern Africa (OSISA) and the Humanist Institute for Cooperation with Developing Countries (HIVOS), provide organisations and individuals with a comprehensive and evolving source of information and tools for engaging in dialogue and debate on the openness and accessibility of information, knowledge and software. It also serves as a platform for action and the development of practices within organisations which contribute towards openness and access to information, knowledge and software applications.
