Political parties: Challenges for sustained multiparty democracy

Political parties are indispensable for making democracy work. This book provides a comparative analysis of 27 African countries and 75 political parties. Finding the right conditions for better internal functioning is of key importance. This data was assembled during 2004-06 and is followed by national and sub-regional dialogue workshops between political parties, researchers and civil society. The purpose is to provide constructive public debate and reforms actions in this way helping political parties to develop.
