This report was a result of a broad based consultative process. It is divided into three sections:The first is an assessment of poverty reduction frameworks in SADC countries; the second part is an assessment of poverty monitoring strategies in selected SADC countries (poverty observatories) and the presentation of Southern Africa Civil Society Poverty and Development Charter. The main purpose was to enhance civil society understanding of the poverty eradication frameworks at national and regional levels with a view to developing a common vision regarding poverty eradication, regional integration and development in SADC, that is sustainable and people-centred.
