South Africa Country Report

In Southern African countries the prevalence of different types of violence against women is persistently high despite efforts by government and civil society.

The objective of Partnerships for Prevention of Violence against Women and Girls in Southern Africa is to strengthen co-operation between government, NGOs and the private sector. It recognises the need for multi-sectoral approaches.

This study collected quantitative and qualitative data through a baseline survey, stakeholder workshops and interviews with key stakeholders. It found that stakeholders from different sectors already engage in different ways but opportunities still exist to broaden networks.
