The priority areas outlined are based on the comprehensive and detailed information in the report, South Africa: Justice Sector and the Rule of Law published by the Africa Governance Monitoring and Advocacy Project (AfriMAP), and the Open Society Foundation for South Africa. AfriMAP is a project of the Open Society Foundation (OSF), and was set up in 2004 to monitor and promote compliance with standards of good governance, human rights and democracy in countries of the African Union.
