The School of Journalism and Media Studies is serious about community development and has several projects it pursues. Some are aimed at empowering communities to define their own news agendas while at the same time expanding the ability of Rhodes journalism students to imagine a more inclusive, diverse audience for their journalism. It also encourages communities to explore ways of producing their own media. Other projects are aimed at exposing young learners to various aspects of journalism and media studies.
