This research report found that over 60% of school going children have been abused. Sexual abuse was identified as the most prevalent type of abuse, with physical abuse second. A high no of abuse cases were perpetrated by adult males between the ages of 21-40 years, mostly related to the survivor. Mothers and grandmothers were linked to physical, verbal and emotional abuse. Teachers were also mentioned as perpetrators of abuse including sexual abuse. The most vulnerable children were those living with either parent or with relatives.
