In the year 2000 the Women’s Charter was published. It was a culmination of consultations, by for and with Zimbabwean women to come up with a vision for Zimbabwe’s future. It was a pioneer of women’s rights documents in the region. Zimbabwean women have now begun to identify gaps in the demands and provisions of the charter. It is with these gaps that are so close to their hearts that the women of Zimbabwe started revising and updating the charter.
