This is a report by the National Working Party on the portrayal of women in the media. Evidence compiled over the last few decades consistently shows that women reject the way they are depicted in the media. This booklet presents important evidence on the imbalance of the portrayal of women in the media Gender factors have been analysed and show that the portrayal of women is out of step with changes in women’s lifestyles and economic power in Australia.
