Women Journalists of colour: present without power – A report by the International Women’s Media Foundation

The International Women’s Movement (IWMF) study is a step in bridging the substantial perception gaps that lie between what managers think is happening in their newsrooms and the first hand experiences of women of colour, once the voices of women of colour are heard news organisations that invest consistently in diversity will flourish.

This nationwide study into the obstacles and opportunities for women of colour in the media was conducted in the USA. The majority of women of colour say their progress is hampered by lingering racial stereotypes and subtle discrimination.
