Multi party parliamentary women’s caucuses have emerged as a response to the demand for access to public office by a growing number of women, and the need for greater impact and effectiveness after they are elected. Caucuses have become a place where woman politicians can identify themselves as representatives of gender interests, in many cases transcending ideological or political identities.
