Tabloid journalists often complain that journalism awards discriminate against their
genre. But perhaps the industry is justified in doing so, asks Matebello Motloung.
The biggest achievement of tabloid newspapers in this country is said to be their
penetration of a market that previously either did not read newspapers or was not
adequately represented in the mainstream media.
