The thesis examines differences in newspaper use between three religious groups: Mormons, Orthodox Jews and mainstream Protestants. Here the two religious minority groups are compared to the mainstream group. it was assumed that religious affiliation of the reader would result in avoidance from secular newspapers. however, it was discovered that religiousity was what most deeply influenced newspaper readership. those that were more deeply religious tended to read newspapers less.
