Submission to the Committee on Elimination of Discrimination against Women

This submission acknowledges the Committee’s Concept Note prepared in anticipation of the Day of General Discussion held on 7 October 2013 and in particular, the guidance provided therein regarding the major challenges faced by women living in rural communities.2 Through this submission, CALS proposes recommendations in response to some of these challenges and also highlights additional issues that are critical for the exercise and enjoyment of fundamental human rights by women living in rural communities.
