The article presents the findings of a media monitoring project
undertaken in Lesotho, Malawi, South Africa and Zimbabwe1. The
project titled “Who talks on talk showsÀ is the first gender audit
of radio talk shows to be conducted in Southern Africa. The study
found that women are the missing voices in radio talk shows:
whether as hosts, guests or callers.
