Binga Rural District Council (BRDC) officially opened its gates on the 17th of August 1981. Binga District borders Hwange to the south-west Lupane to the south and Gokwe and Nyaminyami to the east. It also shares an international boundary with Zambia to the north and north-west along Lake Kariba (Zambezi River). The District is located midway between Kariba Town and Victoria Falls. The council is a spoke council for Umguza RDC in the hub and spoke programme for gender mainstreaming in local government.
