La commune urbaine de Morondava est située dans la région Menabe, dans le sud ouest de Madagascar. Avec 75 370 habitants, Morondava s’étend sur 34 km². La population vit principalement de l’élevage, de la pêche et du commerce. La commune a rejoint l’initiative Centre d’excellence en 2012 et a également bénéficié du projet « Femmes et entreprenariat » en 2013.
