My name is Mireille and I am 52. I thought that my learning phase of life ended when I left school at the age of 10. I never knew that I could continue to learn and broaden my knowledge. I joined Centre D’Eveille to work as a cook. I have always loved working for kids and cooking for them each day is a pleasure that I cannot explain. It means a lot to me to prepare meals for the kids I love. I am myself a mother to three kids. Besides cooking, I love to do crochet. This is what I do in my free time. I never thought that I could do a business out of this. I learn more about how to develop a business when I followed the entrepreneurship course with Gender Links.

I came to know that I can make tailor made items and sell them to people. When I sold my first crochet work which was really appreciated by the lady who bought it, I felt a sense of pride. I want to grow, to expand and sell my products to people. I have spent years to be at an advanced level with crochet making. I know the market demand and through the training, I have learned that there are many opportunities that is available. My age does not define my capacity to grow. I am determined to continue in the same line and make this my business. Life has not always been favourable to me but now I can see some light at the end of the tunnel
