Dar es Salaam, 22 August : Reliable data and statistics are important to help close the gender gap. This was one of the key things discussed at the ongoing Gender and News Summit in Tanzania.
Speaking at one of the parallel sessions on data and statistics under the title using data and statistics for better reporting on Sustainable Development Goals. Data has been important in showing us the gender gaps that are existent in leadership, media, politics and all other sectors. Panelists in the session also noted the importance of helping girls be involve in the jobs of the future through getting involved in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics.
