Gender Links (GL) seeks summit applications from women entrepreneurs, men working as partners to prevent gender based violence, journalists and local authorities in Eswatini, Madagascar and South Africa to showcase good practices in their line of work. .
GL will convene summits under the theme Economic power to end gender-based violence. The summits will take place following the end of the 2022 Sixteen days of Activism campaign.
The summits will take place over a period of two days in each country. Summits are scheduled as follows: Eswatini, 18-19 December 2022 at Happy Valley Hotel, Ezulwini; Madagascar, 13- 14 December 2022 Le Pave Hotel , Antananarivo and South Africa, 14 – 15 December 2022 at Kopanong Hotel.
The summits seek to gather evidence on #VoiceandChoice through case studies on leadership and institutional practice on gender-based violence, local economic development and the implementation of the Sunrise Campaign: Economic power to end violence. Furthermore, they will acknowledge and affirm survivors of gender violence who are reclaiming their lives. And promote discussion and reflection on what works to achieve gender equality and justice.
