Life as we all know it is a journey filled with joy and sadness, laughter and tears. However many a time for some people tears and more tears have been the order of the day thanks to this animal now affectionately known as Gender Based Violence (GBV). Since time immemorial this animal has hunted and haunted many a person and despite efforts to bring awareness to the injustices it poses, it seems to grow every single day. It is against the commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism which originated from the first Women’s Global Leadership Institute sponsored by the Centre for Women’s Global Leadership in 1991 that the injustices and atrocities suffered by survivors and meted by perpetrators are highlighted.
