Gender Links (GL), a dynamic Southern African NGO based in Johannesburg, promoting gender equality and justice, seeks the services of experienced, creative, highly motivated and committed new staff in its Zimbabwe office to deliver on its mandate in 2023.

Senior Enterprise Development Officer

Purpose of the position

The Senior Enterprise Development Officer is responsible for implementing and supporting the requirements of the enterprise development programme in Zimbabwe.

Duties and responsibilities will entail: –

  • Plan and organize activities in line with the project´s work plan ensuring the timely accomplishment of project objectives.
  • Carrying out assessment to identify marketing needs;
  • Implementing and reviewing policies, regulations, standards, plans, strategies, and activities related to agriculture; waste management, arts and culture; clean energy, primary processing, and value addition;
  • Promoting value addition and supporting value chain in various thematic sectors of the enterprise project.
  • Provide coaching and technical support to local government and enterprise groups on entrepreneurship, business skills, income generation and livelihood activities, including saving and loans.
  • Train Enterprise groups on governance and leadership, rapid appraisal of income generating activities and other capacity building trainings in order to enhance knowledge and skills to manage themselves independently.
  • Overseeing the development, interpretation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Enterprise Development programme.
  • Liaising with stakeholders for program implementation, and marketing.
  • Advising on development and implementation of an effective programme for application and transfer of appropriate technologies;
  • Preparing partnership agreements with relevant stakeholders;
  • Promoting innovativeness in the development of products by enterprise groups;
  • Consolidate and compile monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, inclusive of success stories and lessons learnt.
  • Analyze and synthetize information for implementation of project activities and coordinate tasks with implementing partners.
  • Track progress of Enterprise groups and keep updated records.
  • Facilitating entrepreneurship business linkages;
  • Facilitating access to markets at local, national, and regional levels.

Finance and Administration Officer

The Finance and Administration Officer  is responsible for maintaining financial, accounting, administrative and personnel services in order to meet legislative requirements and support Gender Links operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To manage all aspects of accounting, procurement and regular audit for the organization
  • Support programme with budgets for proposals / projects;
  • Budget tracking, monthly, quarterly reports;
  • Oversee the financial operations of the organization and ensure timely and accurate financial reports and practices including cash management, payroll, payments, ledgers and supplier database;
  • Responsible for entering financial information and maintaining all financial records for the organization using Sage Pastel Evolution;
  • Preparation of accurate accounting reports;
  • Process payments timeously and accurately in pastel using the Sage Pastel Procurement module;
  • Donor agreements compliance;
  • Adherence to internal control systems;
  • General ledger & accounts payable month end procedures;
  • Overall relation with banks, including opening and closing accounts, negotiation of conditions;
  • Advices the Regional Manager on the budget follow up and be responsible for the accurate expenditure of the budget;
  • Maintain the asset register.
  • Responsible for the External Audit process;
  • Maintain a proper filing system at all times.

The Driver  is responsible for providing safe driving services to the organisation, carrying staff to and from different work locations and ensuring that program vehicles are maintained in good working condition. The Program Driver shall provide a variety of transportation support to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure provision of reliable and safe driving services for staff, and visitors.
  • Ensure vehicle is clean and well maintained.
  • Maintain an up-to-date log book and adhere to organizational vehicle policies.
  • Deliver and collects mail and documents and other items as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
