Description: Entrepreneurship is an area that participates actively in the development of the local economy, with 250,000 people working in Small Medium Enterprises (SME) in Mauritius. The annual SME Trade & Technology Fair, organized by the Ministry of Business and cooperatives will be held this month. 140 SMEs in Mauritius, including cooperative societies, will be exposing their products and services to an estimated of 80,000 visitors. The presence of the companies Reunion Island and South Africa is also announced. Exhibitors will have the possibility to increase their sales, strengthen their relationships with their clients and have networking opportunity with other entrepreneurs. Different sectors such as textiles, clothing, food, jewelry, computers, crafts, indoor and outdoor decoration, carpentry and plants among others will be represented. They will be supported by key institutions like the SMEDA (small medium enterprise development authority) and DBM (Development bank of Mauritius). These institutions will also give advice to people who want to set up their own SME.
