A Committee with DRC settlement and the Municipality has been established to look into the matters of lack of proper water and sanitation in Swakopmund. Lack of basic services delivery can lead to GBV at the settlement as this settlement has demonstrated on number of occasion about safely for women and girls during night hours. Many women and girls have been rape and murdered on the way to toilets. A petition was delivered to the mayors of the town and the impact of the petition was recently felt when the council decided to address the issues..

The demonstration was attended by the mayor and his councillors, regional councillors, church and the public at large.
