KEY FACTS

The GBV Indicators research conducted in Mauritius shows that at least one in four women have experienced GBV at some time in their life.
In interviews on their perpetration of violence, men have corroborated these findings, sometimes even more strongly than women report experiencing.
Citizens gave their government a score of 67% for government’s efforts to address GBV.
The 2009 Combating of Trafficking in Persons Act prohibits all forms of trafficking for adults and children and prescribes penalties of up to 15 years’ imprisonment for convicted
