  • The GBV Indicators research conducted in Mauritius shows that at least one in four women have experienced GBV at some time in their life.
  • In interviews on their perpetration of violence, men have corroborated these findings, sometimes even more strongly than women report experiencing.
  • Citizens gave their government a score of 67% for government’s efforts to address GBV.
  • The 2009 Combating of Trafficking in Persons Act prohibits all forms of trafficking for adults and children and prescribes penalties of up to 15 years’ imprisonment for convicted
