Every year, the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children Campaign seeks to contribute to government’s primary developmental objective of restoring to individuals their human dignity, within the context of safer and more secure families and communities. The year 2007 was no exception, with the campaign starting on 25 November (International Day of no Violence against Women and ending on 10 December (International Human Rights Day). Other commemorative days falling within the campaign, included World AIDS Day on 1 December and the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December.
