A total of 67,000 babies. That is how many infants have been spread HIV from their pregnant mothers since the government improved its prevention of mother to child transmission programme (PMTCT). Now the state believes it is possible to totally eradicate the transmission of HIV from pregnant mothers to their babies in South Africa by 2015.
