Gender and the MDGs cyber dialogue, video conference and book launch

Invitation to participate in international video conference, book launch and cyber dialogues on the Gender and the Millennium Development Goals
Gender Links and its partners, the External Affairs, Africa Region of the World Bank, the United Nations Development Fund, Harvard University, Africa Development Bank, African Public Broadcasting Foundation, African Woman and Child Feature Service (AWC), and the International Women’s Tribune Centre (IWTC) invites you to participate in a video conference and/or cyber dialogues on Gender and the Millennium Development Goals.
The initiative, which is being led by the External Affairs, Africa Region of the World Bank is an attempt to ensure that the voices of ordinary African people are heard and incorporated into the discussions that will be taking place in New York during the five-year Millennium Review Summit.

You can join the cyber dialogues by logging on to the Gender Links website at www.genderlinks.org.za and following the instructions below:
Follow the link from cyber dialogues graphic in the centre of the homepage or on the cyber dialogues link on the top menu bar.
On the next page click on Gender Links Chat, then Register.
Select your username and password.
Once you are registered, you will return to the login page, type in the login and password that have registered with and click on login.
Select the “Cyber dialogues” room and join the discussion.
Video conference and book launch
The video conference will link up sites in 11 countries: Rwanda, Mozambique, Malawi, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Angola, Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa and the United States, including the UN and World Bank. Expert panelists will include representatives from the United Nations Fund for Women (UNIFEM) as well as key South African role players in the gender sector.
A new GL/UNIFEM publication, “Finding Gender in the MDGs: Southern African Women Make the links” will also be launched during the video conference. The book draws on an audit conducted by NGOs across the region who are members of the Southern African Gender Protocol Alliance, as well as experts and opinion shapers reflecting on their personal experiences.
