Applications for Membership of the Gender Links Audit Committee

Gender Links, a vibrant Southern African NGO that promotes gender equality and justice, invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to serve on its Audit Committee, a sub-committee of the Gender Links Board of Directors. For more information on GL, please go to www.genderlinks.org.za.
Functions
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Audit Committee is responsible for, among others:
Qualifications
Suitably qualified candidates must be Chartered Accountants (or have equivalent accounting qualifications) with experience in Enterprise Risk Management. The candidates must also have a proven record of commitment to gender equality.
Conditions
The committee meets four times a year at GL Offices in Cyrildene, Johannesburg. Members of the committee must be independent; they may not be associated in any way with, or benefit from, GL resources. They must be willing to serve as Directors of GL, which is registered as a company-not-for profit. The position is not remunerated, but offers the opportunity for interested individuals to contribute to the sustainability of one of the best known gender equality organisations in the region on a pro bono basis and to be part of its vibrant network. GL will cover reasonable costs of travel to and from meetings. Applicants from outside South Africa may join meetings electronically.
