You are cordially invited to participate in the fourth Gender and Media Diversity Centre dialogue that will focus on the current issue of the Media Diversity Journal on “The Tabloid ExplosionÀ

TIME:  14.30-16.00
VENUE: St Peters Room 36, Rhodes University
SPEAKERS: Making sense of tabloid newspapers, Prof Lynette Steenveld; Whose news, whose views? Tabloids do little to bridge the gender gap, Colleen Lowe Morna; Tabloids and images, Trevor Davies; Tabloids in Swaziland, Prof Richard Rooney; An editor’s perspective (TBC)
 
The cyber dialogue will follow immediately after the launch to enable those who have contributed to the journal and are interested in this subject, but are not able to be at the launch, to participate in the discussion

To join the cyber dialogue please follow these steps:
How to chat
First, you need to register in the Gender links chat room. Go to www.genderlinks.org.za.
Instructions for registration and logging in are as follows:
First time registration:
1. Click on the Cyber dialogues in the middle of the GL home page under eTalk or on the top menu bar.
2. Click on the Gender Links Chat.
3. Once there you will see a login screen. Move down and click on register.
4. Complete all the registration details. Write down your login and password and click REGISTER.
5. You will return to the login page, now type in your login and password and click LOGIN.
6. Select the room you want to chat in.
 
Logging in (FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE REGISTERED BEFORE):
1. Click on the Cyber dialogues in the middle of the GL home page under eTalk or on the top menu bar.
2. Click on the Gender Links Chat.
3. Once there you will see a login screen.
4. Fill in your login and password and click on LOGIN.
5. Select the room you want to chat in.
