All media are cordially invited to a media briefing on the ground-breaking Cyber Dialogues that will form an important part of this year’s Sixteen Days of Activism on Gender Violence (see attached pamphlet).

Under the slogan “Making IT work for gender justice”, the cyber dialogues are a unique partnership between civil society, government and the private sector. The briefing will coincide with a workshop bringing together eighty facilitators from around the country, as well as Johannesburg city councilors, to prepare for the cyber dialogues. The cyber dialogues will involve a combination of face to face encounters on different themes during the Sixteen Days, as well as an on-line chat room and bulletin boards that will link all those participating in the discussions. The briefing will be addressed by the Speaker of the City of Johannesburg, Nandi Mayathula Khoza, as well as representatives of the GCIS, NGOs and business partners in the initiative including Gender Links, the Network on Violence Against Women and Microsoft.
