Description

The article is about an Iranian human rights activist who wants to stop the stoning of Sakineh Mohammadie Ashtiani, a mother of two. She will be buried up to her chest and stones large enough to cause pain but not so large enough to kill her immediately will be hurled at her.

  • Gender blind-being jugdemental, biased,placing the blame on the woman
  • perpetuates stereotypes- women are adulteres

Discussion questions:

  • where is the man she slept with?
  • why are they not stoned together?
  • are there no other ways of punishing her?
  • what does her family say or feel about this

  • Follow up article on the case
  • support the activist
  • follow up on the Amnesty International
